Canada falls 3-2 to Finland in World Junior Exhibition
Canada’s National Junior Team took to the ice for the first time as a team Thursday dropping a pre-competition exhibition game 3-2 against Finland.
Griffin Reinhart of the Edmonton Oil Kings and Mark Scheifele of the Barrie Colts scored for Canada.
Boone Jenner (Oshawa Generals), Charles Hudon (Chicoutimi Sagueneens), and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins all picked up assists.
Olli Maatta of the London Knights recorded an assist on Finland’s second goal.
Malcolm Subban of the Belleville Bulls took the loss in goal for Canada.
After facing Sweden over the weekend, Canada will travel to Ufa, Russia for the world junior hockey championship. It plays its first game there on Dec. 26 against Germany on Boxing Day.
