Canada wins 2-1 over Sweden in final WJC warmup
Canada’s National Junior Team edged Sweden 2-1 in a shootout on Saturday in their final 2013 World Junior Championship pre-competition game.
Jonathan Huberdeau (Saint John Sea Dogs) and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins both scored in the shootout to secure the win.
Jonathan Drouin (Halifax Mooseheads) scored in regulation for Canada.
Jordan Binnington (Owen Sound Attack) made 30 saves in the win.
Canada’s next game will be on Boxing Day when they open the tournament against Germany.
