Toronto, ON – USA Hockey out of Colorado Springs today announced that 12 players from the Canadian Hockey League in a total of 43 players from 18 states have been invited to the 2009 U.S. National Junior Evaluation Camp in Lake Placid, N.Y., which runs from Aug. 7-15.
Participating players are candidates for the 2010 U.S. National Junior Team that will compete in the 2010 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship, from Dec. 26, 2009-Jan. 5, 2010, in Saskatoon and Regina, Sask.
The camp will feature practices, three games between the split U.S. squads and four games against Russia.

The camp opens on Aug. 7, with the first international game set for Aug. 11. Games will be held at the USA Rink and 1980 Rink Herb Brooks Arena at the Olympic Center. All practice sessions are open to the public and tickets to the international games are available through the Olympic Regional Development Authority (orda.org) in Lake Placid.
In addition, Jay Varady, associate head coach of the Western Hockey League's Everett Silvertips, will serve as video coach.
