Matthew Pistilli of the Gatineau Olympiques named CHL Player of the Week
TORONTO, Wednesday, February 20, 2008 - The
Canadian Hockey League today announced that Matthew Pistilli of the
Gatineau Olympiques is the CHL Player of the Week for the week ending
Sunday February 17 after scoring five goals and eight assists for 13
points in three games.
Pistilli started the week with two goals and four assists to pace the
Olympiques to an 8-1 win over the Shawinigan Cataractes on Friday. He
added two assists in a 4-1 win over the Victoriaville Tigres on
Saturday and finished the week with three goals and two assists in a
9-2 win over the Drummondville Voltigeurs on Sunday.
Pistilli, a 19-year-old native of Montreal, Quebec, improved his season
scoring totals to 29 goals and 45 assists for 74 points in 53 games.
Justin Bernhardt of the Prince Albert Raiders was the WHL nominee after
scoring four goals and two assists for six points in two games and
Dustin Jeffrey of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds was the OHL nominee
after scoring two goals and seven assists for nine points in three
games.
